Rejoice!

Rejoice always? That doesn't even make sense.

I don't rejoice when someone I love dies, even when I know they're in heaven.

I don't rejoice when my checking account is overspent.

I don't rejoice when the driver in front of me cuts me off on the highway.

But the verse specifically says, "Rejoice in the Lord always" (NIV verse 4).

That makes a bit more sense. No matter my circumstances, I can always rejoice in what God has done for me.
