Little Children, Fathers, Young Men

Why did John separate his comments into these three categories, verses 12-14 of chapter 2?

One insight that is drawn in the Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible, biblestudytools.com, is that the little children and fathers have a more knowledge-based relationship with the Lord. It is the young men who are most active in their interactions with the Lord.

That accurately describes my journey of faith.

I wonder how old I will be when I transition from being a young man to a father?
